Downloading Files Attached to E-mail

When you receive mail with a small disk icon upon opening, there's a file attached to message. Usually this will automatically be displayed if it is an image (ie jpg, gif, etc) otherwise, you need to download it.

ONLY download attached files from senders you recognize. If you receive an e-mail with an attached file from someone you do not know, DO NOT open the message or the attachment.

To download a file attached to e-mail you receive:

  1. Click on the small disk icon or the filename.
  2. Select 'Save it to Disk'
  3. Select the folder where you want to save and click on 'Save'.
Notes:

To read attached files you must have software that is compatible with the file(s). For example, if you receive a WordPerfect file, you must have either WordPerfect or a word processor program capable of opening WordPerfect files. Also make sure the file is compatible with your computer; for example, a Windows machine may not be able to read some Macintosh files.
